Aja Ekadashi Puja
Devotees worship Lord Vishnu with flowers, fruits, Tulsi leaves, incense and a diya. Reading or listening to Vishnu-related prayers and stories is also considered auspicious.
Significance
Aja Ekadashi is observed for spiritual growth, peace and the blessings of Lord Vishnu. It is also believed to help devotees seek forgiveness and overcome past mistakes.
Aja Ekadashi Katha
According to the Aja Ekadashi story, King Harishchandra was known for his truthfulness and devotion to dharma. However, he faced many difficult situations in life.
Following the advice of a sage, he observed the Aja Ekadashi fast and worshipped Lord Vishnu with devotion. With the blessings of Lord Vishnu, his difficulties were removed and he regained his lost happiness and honour.
The story is why Aja Ekadashi is considered an important day for seeking forgiveness, relief from difficulties and the blessings of Lord Vishnu.
